In the week of June 19-25, 2023, an impactful workshop unfolded at the Royal Stockholm Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden, attended by members of the GeoTAK project team from the Republic of Armenia. Notable participants included Varazdat Hovhannisyan Nuaca GeoTAK project coordinator, Manuk Barseghyan, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, and Stepan Khachatryan, a lecturer of the Chair of Water Systems, Hydraulic Engineering, and Hydropower.
The workshop encompassed a spectrum of activities, featuring both training courses and workshops. One significant segment involved the working group’s active engagement in a workshop themed “Innovation and Entrepreneurship through Geographic Information Systems.” This session delved into the intricate interplay between education, research, and innovation. Participating universities undertook the development and presentation of entrepreneurial projects, with the RAC team’s SCIENTIFIC project garnering recognition as the most outstanding among the projects presented.
A pivotal element of the workshop involved the working group’s contribution to a panel discussion focusing on the collaboration dynamics between Higher Education Institutions and the Economy in Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. This forum served as a platform for presenting proposals aimed at enhancing the joint postgraduate program. The insightful exchange during the panel discussion underscored the commitment of the participating institutions to refining and optimizing the synergy between academia and the economic landscape in both Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
